SOLID STOOL STUDIES
Simple is not easy. I saw an iconic stool with round tapered legs and was inspired to make one. However I did not have the lathe necessary to make round tapers. This limitation become the point of departure for a new design. I realized I could buy dowels and cut an angle off of them with a tapering jig. The operation is more simple than using a lathe and the form is more complex. Simple it turns out is not just a matter of form.
