REFINE-OVATION OF EXISTING HOUSE

EXTERIOR SANCTUARY

EXTERIOR SANCTUARY

After years of living in our house we decided to refine and renovate to address things we had come to realize could be improved. I felt the proportions of the front of the original house were squat. So we built an entrance tower to change the proportions from squat to triumphant. The entrance tower also allowed us to create a tree house like balcony off of the master bedroom. We wrapped the house in a new rain screen made of cedar slats to improve the quality of the houses skin. We improved the quality of the interior finishes. We added fire and water to our sanctuary space. In general we had become more skilled craftspeople since first building the house and that allowed us to refine our dwelling space.
